Before becoming a performance artist, Tania Maria Henneberg has extensive experience within conceptual design and visual communication with years of work, across
Fashion-, Art and Film industry.
She holds a BA in design, with a Master’s Degree (MA) in Communication from Aalborg University, with a focus on media aesthetics, visual cultures and visual communication, with additional educations and trainings in body practices. She still enjoy working in every of those fields.
In the fashion industry, she was involved in conceptual design and mapping out tendencies, blending visual communication in various forms. This work nurtured her deep interest in how society shapes us as human beings, in modern contexts, influencing how we express ourselves and interact with each other.

In the fashion industry, she was involved in conceptual design and mapping out tendencies, blending visual communication in various forms. This work nurtured her deep interest in how society shapes us as human beings, in modern contexts, influencing how we express ourselves and interact with each other.
This curiosity eventually, among other things, led to an artistic practice in performance art, providing an outlet and a vehicle to explore and share the conclusions drawn from these observations. With over eight years of experience in performance art, Tania has been part of an award-winning Danish performance group in Copenhagen. There, she has performed, facilitated, and conceptualized artistic ideas to bring immersive, aesthetic experiences into people’s everyday lives.
“Originally, I have a background in design forecasting, design and visual communication. My journey led me to start working with a Danish performance group, where I have explored an artistic research within aesthetic experiences. Exploring how the sensuous stimuli, create meaningfulness and a sense of belonging in peoples life. Within this frame I have been working around different topics of interest. My previous- and ongoing knowledge of mapping out tendencies, is always a vehicle for these topics and my work in general.
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to facilitate a workshops at Lund University’s MA and PhD semester course, on Arts and Health. A journey that has just begun. Today, I design and conceptualize my art to create immersive and beneficial aesthetic experiences for others.
One day I design a print, the other I design a durational performative concept.
I like to move within a broad spectra: I am not only a performance artist nor just a designer:
I research and create in a dynamic dialogue between the academic, artistic and intuitive fields. This versatility allows me to work in many different ways, with many different people, disciplines and projects, which I love and find incredibly inspiring”.

Thesis: Trend forecasting and future consumerism
How the modern individual relates to clothing (as a form of expression) under the powerful influence of globalizing- technological- homogenized- and dictating trends, and how the fundamental need to express oneself authentically (not dictated) has arisen from this. It became partly a psychological and sociological study of the modern individual, and of personal interest to understand how technology has affected the modern individual, in different situations, including the way we relate to each other.
